Emily competed in the 11-12 yr division of the Australian Age Division Golf Championships at Yeppoon in April.  At the end of three fantastic days she was crowned Age Division Champion.

She has now qualified for the Australian team to compete in two tournaments in America - the World Stars of Junior Golf in Las Vegas and the West Coast Junior Olympics in Los Angeles.  Both of these events take place during July 2016.

Whilst it's a great honour to be selected to play in an Australian team, we get no assistance with the costs associated with the trip, therefore all flights, accommodation etc. must be covered by us.  This is a very unexpected trip, something that we just hadn't even considered, so unfortunately we are struggling to find the funds to get Emily there.

This could be a once in a lifetime opportunity for Emily to participate in tournaments such as this, so we are determined to ensure she is able to take advantage of what she has achieved.

As a family we would be so grateful for any assistance received to help Emily compete in America as we have no doubt she would be a great representative for Australia and get an awful lot out of this amazing opportunity.

It was a tough day today for Round 3. The hottest we've had in this tournament. A couple of issues over rules saw Emily lose the plot for a few holes, but somehow she pulled herself together to shoot a fantastic 86!

She is the 12 year age division gold medalist, AND she also is the overall winner of the 11-12 year age division in the AAU West Coast Junior Olympic Games!!!! AND she came 6th overall out of all the girls of EVERY age division. She has grown so much over the last 2 weeks and made some wonderful new friends. This experience has been priceless for her and we'd like to thank everyone who has supported Emily whether it be by your great words of encouragement or by donations. You are all awesome!

Well, I'm not quite sure what to say. We're all a little stunned. Apart from 2 holes where Emily forgot how to play golf, she just played the most clinical round we've ever seen. Remembering there are 5 greens she can't reach in regulation, Emily just scored 81!! She was only 3 over for the last 13 holes. It was a stunning display. On this course her handicap is 20, so she's played 11 under her handicap today. She's remains in first position. The 3rd and final round is tomorrow.

Today was Round 1 of the West Coast Junior Olympic Games and it's been a long day! We've discovered this is the first year of this re-vamped tournament so they're still getting things sorted. It's different to what we were expecting. Usually the age divisions are 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 etc. but they've decided to have individual age divisions, so Emily is playing just with 12 year olds. That would work if it was a big tournament, but it's not. So unfortunately Emily's age division only has 3 girls in it. The other 2 girls are members at the club (one is originally from Thailand). Both nice girls. Playing the front 9 it was obvious the 3 girls are very close in standard which is awesome. It was a tough day, with a 10.20am tee off in 40 degree humid heat really knocking the girls about (and us if I'm honest). But......Emily played her heart out. Only a couple of dodgy holes and she now has another PB! She scored 86 and is coming 1st!! Looking forward to Round 2 tomorrow.

The 3rd and final round of the World Stars of Junior Golf is done and dusted! After a great start with a birdie on the 2nd hole, Emily fell apart because her group was getting in trouble for being way too slow. The two girls she was playing with are both from Canada (originally China) and are friends, so they were chatting away down the fairways and their putting was ridiculously slow. Even though the official assured Emily she wasn't the problem, she started to get stressed and was rushing her shots. It took her a few holes to calm back down and thankfully the other girls were great from that point on. Lovely girls and lovely Dads.

It was a tough day with a slightly later start meaning the heat was worse, but Emily battled on and managed to hit her best ever score of 83!!! She came =13th for today's round and finished 19th overall! We are super proud of her. She has grown so much these last few days. This tournament has been a great experience for her. Time to relax now before the presentation tonight.

Thank you so much to everyone for your support. A few days off now before the West Coast Junior Olympics begins!
