We rescued SEVEN (yes 7) adult bearded dragons from a breeder recently and they all were in dire need of vet care. They got to the vet today and we got WAY more than we bargained for in fees. We are potentially fighting yellow fungus, multiple eye infections, random skin fungus, swollen and infected limbs and unknown lumps in stomachs. We have been given a prescription that, if we can find it locally, will be $98 for 2 pills or a minimum of $105 plus shipping if it needs to be ordered. ALL paperwork has been photographed and added to this fundraiser so everyone can see what types of issues rescues deal with.
As many of us know, typically, these are "$15 lizards" and spending this amount of money on them is outrageous. While this statement might be correct in many cases, it is not here. We are not sure it is yellow fungus and the test results will take at least 7 days to receive. In the meantime the infections and other injuries need to be addressed to improve the quality of life for these animals. Also we have a head start on healing them if it is not yellow fungus. We are asking for a little more than the current bills as there are a couple more tests and procedures that the vet would like to run on these dragons.
