As many of you know my battle with Cancer started June 1, 2015. I have gone through a lot of difficulties, and some days are better than others. I’m getting stronger every day and know that God is by my side. Since the beginning of this journey, I’ve asked God to show me what my purpose is or how what I am going through can help others. I’ve searched within myself to find that answer daily.
One of my biggest obstacles that I’m sure I share with many cancer patients is that as great as chemo is to kill off the cancer it also brings many side effects with it.
When I first started chemo treatments a very special person my sister-in-law Nancy gave me a chemo comfort kit. She told me this is to help you when you’re going through chemo. The bag was filled with all kinds of goodies, chapstick, lotion, candy- to take the metal taste out of my mouth and socks. As I looked at the bag it came to me, I want others to have something that helps them through their chemo also. I treasured mine and used it every day. Every time I looked at it, it reminded me that someone cared very much to want to make me feel a little better about everything I’m going through and that’s what I want to give to others. I want them to know that through this difficult time there is someone that cares and want them to know they are not alone in this battle.
To help make this happen I need a little help. I would love to make tutus and superhero capes for the children battling this terrible disease along with their care bags and would like to raise enough money to make at least 50 bags. If you can help I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for all your support, I am very lucky to have such great people in my life. Whether the support be by donation, by prayers or both, I am and will also be very grateful to have all of you be a part of my life.
The bags will be delivered to a local hospital where I myself have done my chemo. I will make sure to keep everyone updated with pictures.
