Elsa M. Castillo was born in the Dominican Republic on March 6th, 1962 and died on October 20th, 2016. From a very young age she had to adapt to living with distant relatives because she lost her parents. She enjoyed helping around the house that she was raised in. It helped form her into the loving and empathetic human being that she has always been. She was always a hard worker and loved taking care of her grand children and her nephews like they were her own.

After all her childhood struggles, she met her husband Roberto Castillo and started their family. At the age of 26 she had her first child Eric Castillo (August 6,1989). Then she had her second son Edgar Castillo (July 28, 1990) and lastly had her youngest Stephanie Castillo (June 30, 1992). She also had two loving Grand Children Christopher and Alex Baez.

Elsa had battled Breast Cancer since 2000. She was Cancer Free for 9 years. In 2009 she was diagnosed with Bone Cancer. She underwent Chemotherapy and Radiation Treatments. In 2010, the Cancer spread to all of her organs and since then our mother's health has become more complicated.

We are raising money to help aleviate the expenses for her services. We would like to honor our loved one Elsa. Elsa always cared for the next person and enjoyed cooking for her ill friends who are suffering from a sickness or disease. Elsa was an outgoing individual who had always enjoyed living life to the fullest and helped the ones in need. Elsa had always been a very religious and faithful person. Always giving advice and hope to her loved ones.

Elsa has been our best example of not giving up, even when there is little or no hope. Although she has underwent Chemotherapy and Radiation Treatments, she believed in Natural Remedies to aleviate her pain and symptoms that with Narcotics other patients look to as an their only option to heal. Elsa had always been a fighter and did not go without putting up a fight. She is the strongest and most loving person that has ever crossed this Earth. Even throughout all the pain she underwent, she managed to keep that beautiful smile on her face.

Note from her children:

This means so much to us as her offspring because every day for the last 16 years we have seen our mother suffer and try and live another day with her loved ones by doing what she had to do from day one to remove this Cancer from her body. First she gave up her breasts and slowly over the years has lost a lot of her organs due to all the chemotherapy and radiation she has underwent. I can no longer see my mom suffer in a bed crying out for God's help. I am not begging for any money or for your donations. But picture yourself in my situation. And never take your parents for granted because at the end of the day you dont know if you will ever see them again if God forbid something happens to them.

Even throughout all the tears and suffering my mom tried to live a very happy life being able to live yet another day next to her loving family. I was blessed to watch my parents re-new their vows last year at a Catholic church and it was the most beautiful thing i have ever experienced in my life. My parents made a vow which was to be lawfully wedded(husband/wife), to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part And my mom did not choose to have Cancer, the Cancer chose her.I consider my mom Elsa M. Castillo as our hero and strongest person i have yet to know because she is still fighting the fight against Cancer!! My family would be so thankful to recieve the help we need to honor our loved one. My mother was a Catholic church goer and believes in the Lord, Jesus Christet and believes we are all here for a reason. Thank you for donating to those who will take a moment to read this and Please Pray for my mom Elsa Castillo.

Sincerely,
The Castillo Family
