The Ellis Racing Family

On Friday, May 17, 2019, Ellis Racing Team was headed to Huntsville, Alabama for a 3-day race weekend. Unfortunately, they were involved in a very tragic accident while traveling I-24 in Kentucky, which claimed the life of Donnie's son, Kyle Ellis.
Donnie Ellis was taken to a local hospital and later flown to Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, TN. He has multiple injuries and is still recovering in Vanderbilt University Hospital. He has a long road to recovery--physically and emotionally.
Donnie's daughter, Nicki was also traveling with the family and was injured as well. She has since been released from the hospital and will recover at home.
Michael Herring, Kyle's fiancé was also traveling with the team and was flown to Vanderbilt University Hospital. He has received treatment, underwent surgery, and has since been released from the hospital.
Their worlds have been turned completely upside down. Donnie has lost his son and his racing operation and is injured physically. His heartache is unimaginable, yet his spirit and determination to get out of the hospital is strong. The entire family needs our loving support and prayers. The road to recovery will be long and days ahead will be more than difficult. Once released from the hospital, Donnie will still need medical care. Medical expenses and funeral expenses are mounting. We want to help with those as well as all of the other various expenses that are accumulating.
