"On Friday, February 12, Elise Lachowyn was tragically killed in a traffic accident in New York City. She was on her way to the North American International Toy Fair working on behalf of Tech 4 Kids.

Elise leaves behind her husband Drew and 6-year-old daughter, Skyler. Elise was most recently a member of the leadership team of Tech 4 Kids, an alumni of Spin Master and a beloved veteran of the Toy Industry. Elise was highly respected, admired, and accomplished individual who will be greatly missed by all.

In loving memory of Elise Lachowyn, Tech 4 Kids and Spin Master have set up this GoFundMe Campaign to help fund the education for her daughter. All funds raised through this campaign will be matched by Tech 4 Kids and Spin Master."

A note from Drew:

I wanted to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for the outpouring of support and extremely kind words that we have received from everyone; those named, those anonymous, those that were close to Elise and I, those who knew Elise only in passing, and those who just heard the story of her death and were moved by it.

Throughout this tragedy we have not felt alone. The “Gofundme” memorial was unexpected and has been incredibly touching. This memorial is representative of the positive impact and influence that Elise had in her professional life in the toy industry and as a close friend to many in her personal life. We are fortunate to have been a part of those connections.

Skyler is young and it will take many years for her to truly understand the gravity of what has occurred as well as people’s reaction to it; however, as Skyler gets older she will come to understand the true meaning behind this memorial fund. She will understand that the fund is representative of how Elise lived her life each day, in a way that was true to herself and that touched so many in a positive way. Elise lived life with integrity, with confidence, passion, and positivity in everything she did. Elise was always up for the challenge. The support we have received is a clear representation and reminder of what Elise stood for in the hearts of those she touched.

Elise’s life was about the personal connections, and the shared experiences. She lived a life with no regrets and was always 100% committed to the task or activity she was engaged in. There was no in-between with Elise, no conditions and no strings attached. Life was genuine and full of passion.

When it came to family Elise was fully committed, loyal and passionate. I feel fortunate to have been able to share the life I did with Elise and to have had our daughter Skyler together. Skyler will continue to remind me of all that I loved about Elise.

I am so very grateful that Skyler will, in the years to come, have the opportunity to pursue her educational dreams’ just as Elise did. The generosity of all those who contributed to this fund will allow Skyler the opportunity to fulfill her educational goals so that she can reach her full potential. This will also allow Skyler the ability to follow her dreams pursuing her true path while establishing close meaningful connections and having a positive impact on those around her just as Elise had done.

I extend my personal thanks and appreciation to both Tech 4 Kids and Spin Master for establishing and matching funds and for their personal support throughout. Their sincere kindness and generosity has been incredible and has made this possible. I look forward to the continued relationship with them.

Again, I thank all of you for you kind words and support for both Skyler and I and our families.

Sincerely,
Drew (and on behalf of Skyler and the family)

I did not know Elise personally. I became aware of this tragedy through connections on Linkedin and those who were lucky enough, by all accounts, to have known and worked with her. I identified immediately as I was in the same place only 3 weeks earlier, under same conditions. It is just such an awful reminder that we not take anything or anyone for granted. I sincerely hope that you and all those who loved her can find peace. And that you and your daughter build a life together filled with joy.
