Eli is the son of Darrik Seibold who is a crew member on board the Destination vessel that went missing in the Bering Sea Saturday. His family is devastated, the past few days have been unbearable for them and a heart breaking time for our community. So many people have asked how they can help during this very helpless time, so we have started a fund for Darrik's son Eli. The fund will help ensure a brighter future for Eli, who will turn three this weekend without his father. By supporting Darrik's son, we can help provide for his future now that his father is unable to do so.
I would like to say thanks to all who have asked how to help Bill and Jan over the past few days, your messages have been forwarded to them.

The court has declared the crew of the Destination legally deceased. We are so appreciative of the love and support the community has provided; you have lifted up the hearts of families left behind and helped begin the healing process.

In Loving Memory Darrik Monroe Seibold 1980 -2017 On February 11, 2017 our beloved son, Darrik Monroe Seibold lost his life in the Bering Sea as a crew member on F/V Destination. Darrik was born on 04/16/1980 in Olympia, WA. His formative years were shared between South East Alaska and Olympia, WA. Darrik grew up to be a very handsome young man with big brown eyes and a crooked little grin that could melt anyone's heart. He was a skilled athlete, enjoyed snowboarding and wakeboarding and was an accomplished football player and a wonderful artist. Darrik had a curious mind and loved studying science and technology. He was very interested in exploring life's possibilities. In 1999 he graduated from North Thurston High School and went on to college in Arizona. However, Darrik was drawn to nature and being outdoors. So, in 2004 he decided to follow his heart and he moved to Alaska to pursue life as a commercial fisherman and crabber. One of Darrik's greatest gifts in life arrived on February 18, 2014, when his precious son, Eli Monroe Seibold was born to him and Amber Gundersen. Darrik cherished his son and was focused on making life changes that would enable him to spend more time with him. Darrik had hoped this would be his last season fishing so he could devote more time to little Eli. Surviving are his son, Eli Monroe Seibold; his dad, William Monroe Seibold (Jan Ward); his mom, Gayle Andrew; brother, Dylan Hatfield; grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends who all loved Darrik and cared for him deeply. All are welcome to join us in celebrating Darrik's life and to share special memories. A Memorial service will be held Friday March 3"' from 6:30p.m.- 8:00p.'m. at South Sound Manor, 455 North St. SE, Tumwater

It's simply overwhelming to know how many people have been touched by the tragedy of Darrik's passing. Eli is blessed to have a community such as ours reach out and wrap their arms around him, thank you.
