Lets help Lillard!
Brandon had a BASE jumping accident in Utah on Friday, September the 12th and slammed really hard. He was transported to Utah Valley Regional Hospital in critical condition, but is now stable and doing much better. He had an issue with his chute after it deployed and hit the wall of the cliff a number of times which caused his parachute to collapse and sent him falling down the face of the mountain. He has some major head trauma and some broken bones that will heal. We are just trying to get him more stable so we can deal with a couple of things immediately and get him transported closer to home for his full recovery. Thanks so much for all the support. He got really lucky and is in good spirits! Lets help him out so he can focus fully on his recovery and not worry about his bills.
Quick update on Brandon...
He is out of surgery and recovering. The surgery went great, they replaced his valve and fixed the aneurysm. The surgeon was able to do a smaller cut which will make for an easier overall recovery. He is stable, breathing on his own and everything looks good.
However, in true Lillard style...he is being hard headed and stubborn fighting the breathing machine. The worst is over now...onto the road to recovery!
Thank you all for the continued love and support.
If you know Brandon you know that slowing down and healing is a challenge in itself but he is doing amazing and improving everyday. He has a left brain trauma that effected his equilibrium and right side coordination. He is now walking on his own and getting stronger every day. It also effected his short term memory and cognitive thinking but that too is improving. We have followed up with Neurologists here in San Diego who are monitoring his recovery. As some of you may know, the blessing in disguise in all of this is when Brandon was admitted to the ER in Utah he was unconscious so the trauma team there did a full body CT scan to find that he has an ascending thoracic aortic aneurism that will require open heart surgery ASAP. This was not injury induced but something that has developed overtime. These things do not have any symptoms or warning signs so he is so very lucky they found this and it can be repaired. We have been doing everything possible to heal his brain ASAP (acupuncture, supplements, rehab, glutathione IV’s) as the Neuro team will work with the Heart Surgeon to determine the best time for Brandon to have this operation.
The love, support and positive thoughts go a long way...THANK YOU.
