Elbi's Big Move!

One furry's story...

Hi! My name is Becki, better known as Elbi the Bori within the furry fandom. I am currently planning for the biggest change and leap of faith in my life. In another year, I am hoping to leave NYC where I've lived my whole life and start over with the love of my life in upstate New York.

Living in the city post-grad has been very difficult for me, especially considering I am in a very competitive field (Bachelors Degree in Illustration) I am going on two years unemployed, and not for lack of trying! This market is extremely tough to break into here and It's very discouraging to be rejected time and time again. It doesn't help that I also suffer from an anxiety disorder that makes regular entry level retail jobs taxing on my health, mentally and physically.

I believe it's time to move on and into an area where I have a better chance to get a good job and truly showcase my talent.

This fundraiser is to help raise just a portion of the money needed to purchase a reliable used car and allow me to pay for insurance on it as well as gas so I can drive to job interviews once I move upstate. I am working hard raising the rest on my own through suit commissions and short term jobs. I am not asking for a handout, this is an investment really into my suitmaking business which I hope to continue on the side once I have made the move.

I have seen firsthand what a lovely and giving community the furry fandom can be, and I truly thank everyone who donates from the bottom of my heart.

This move will definitely make me a happier, more stable person who is able to function better in a less stressful environment filled with nothing but love and support. That means I'll be feeling more up to working on suit related things and creating awesome stuff!
