From Caracas, Venezuela, a group of novels and renowned independent artists seek to resist, reflect, create and generate change through the theater.

The Anarchist Banker , is a text written in 1922 by the Portuguese poet and writer, Fernando Pessoa, which remains in force when demonstrating the obsolete character of "social fictions".
The pragmatism and irremovability professed by false fictions are broken, because our reality cries out for new paradigms in the social and the human, in the political and the aesthetic.
To the rhythm of punk and under the context that provide audiovisual and intermittent projections, this project in constant theatrical construction, approaches the contradiction from the resistance. Enhances the achievable of the insurmountable; Seeks and shows a path that leads us from human delirium to the utopia of Freedom.
Perhaps this intention is only possible from Art.

Given the economic and social situation in Venezuela, art and education are not considered by many as investment priorities. The Venezuelan state does not have the capacity to finance artistic initiatives. For the average citizen to consume Art is a luxury item, dispensable in its tight economy. Because of this, producing a play becomes a challenge in terms of budget.
Independent groups, with a long and recognized history like ours (ART-O DE CARACAS, Collective of Artistic Research), do not manage to consolidate an economic infrastructure, like floor of its creation, although having the backing of the guild and the public.
We see in this option of collective financing a creative lifeline. In the midst of this humanitarian crisis that we live in Venezuela, which does not provide the conditions, but the needs, to create, having your support will allow us to give some guarantee of continuity to the creators and participants of this work.
This project, The Anarchist Banker, inscribed in the Experimental Theater gender, is practically finished. Referring to the human part, meaning: version and revision of the playwrite, audiovisual production, staging and rehearsals.
To make possible its presentation, scenographic production, promotion, basic expenses of production and season, we need this support. The piece premieres on March 23, in a cult theater building of the Venezuelan theatrical movement, Rajatabla.

Art-O is a theatrical company that conceives itself as an artistic laboratory. This projection has given us the freedom to be creative, playful and experimental.
From Art-O we constantly rethink the modes of expression and seek to synthesize contemporary life experience. The theater allows us, thanks to its expressive capacity and its variety of formats, to experience that search.
We do installation theater, we seek to submerge viewers in limit situations, we believe that the future of humanity and nature underlies in this emerging theater, driven by artists who tropicalize the culture of anarchy at the end of the century with irony.
Art-O of Caracas celebrates 28 years of resistance from art with this experimental montage of The Anarchist Banker.

The Rajatabla Foundation, with 46 years of experience and uninterrupted production, is an emblematic institution of the Venezuelan theater. For some years it has opened the doors of its mythical hall to give impetus to alternative and experimental proposals, supporting new tendencies and investigations of the theater in the country.

El Banquero Anarquista, es un texto de Fernando Pessoa escrito en 1922, que se mantiene vigente al demostrar el carácter obsoleto de las “ficciones sociales”.
El pragmatismo y la inamovilidad que profesan las falsas ficciones se quiebran, porque nuestra realidad pide a gritos nuevos paradigmas en lo social y en lo humano, en lo político y en lo estético.
Al ritmo del punk y bajo el contexto que brindan proyecciones audiovisuales e intermitentes, este proyecto en constante deconstrucción teatral, se aproxima a la contradicción desde la resistencia. Realza lo realizable de lo insalvable; busca y muestra una vía que nos lleva del delirio humano a la utopía de la Libertad.
Quizá esta intención solo sea posible desde el Arte.

Dada la situación económica y social en Venezuela, el arte y la educación no son considerados por muchos como prioridades de inversión. El estado venezolano no tiene la capacidad de financiar iniciativas artísticas. Para el ciudadano común consumir Arte es un artículo de lujo, prescindible en su apretada economía. Por esta circunstancia, producir una obra de teatro se vuelve todo un reto en materia de presupuesto.
Grupos independientes, de reconocida y larga trayectoria como el nuestro (ART-O DE CARACAS, Colectivo de Investigación Artística), no logran consolidar una infraestructura económica, como piso de su creación, aun teniendo el respaldo del gremio y el público.
Vemos en esta opción de financiamiento colectivo un salvavidas creativo. En medio de esta crisis ya humanitaria que (sobrevivimos en Venezuela, que no brinda las condiciones, pero sí las necesidades, para crear, contar con su apoyo nos permitirá dar cierta garantía de continuidad a los creadores y participantes de esta obra.
Este proyecto, El Banquero Anarquista, inscrito en el género de Teatro Experimental, está prácticamente terminado. Referente a lo que es parte de lo humano, es decir: versión y revisión de la obra, producción audiovisual, montajes y ensayos.
Para hacer posible su presentación, producción escenográfica, promoción, gastos básicos de producción y temporada, necesitamos este apoyo. La pieza se estrena el 23 de Marzo, en una sala de culto de la movida teatral venezolana.

Desde Art-O nos replanteamos constantemente los modos de expresión y buscamos sintetizar la experiencia vital contemporánea. El teatro nos permite, gracias a su capacidad expresiva y su variedad de formatos, experimentar esa búsqueda.
Hacemos teatro de instalación, buscamos sumergir a los espectadores en situaciones límite, creemos que el futuro la humanidad y la naturaleza subyace en este teatro emergente, impulsado por artistas que tropicalizan la cultura de la anarquía de finales de siglo con ironía.

La Fundación Rajatabla, con 46 años de trayectoria y producción ininterrumpida se constituye en una institucion emblematica del teatro venezolano. Desde hace algunos años abrió las puertas de su mítica sala para dar impulso a propuestas alternativas y experimentales, apoyando nuevas tendencias e investigaciones del teatro en el país.
