Man up!
Grow some balls!
Stop being a cry baby!
Bros before h**s!
BE A MAN!

What expectations do we have for men in our society? How do our expectations shape manhood? Why do we expect men to never show emotion? What happens when boys are taught to use violence to garner respect and solve conflicts? What would the world look like if it wasn't male-dominated...and if men actually had a part in working to achieve this balance? In a male-dominated world, why aren't we doing the work to address the very people at the core of some of these issues? Who will young men look to for guidance?

Redefining the way society has shaped manhood, is the first step for gender equality and can lead to many other societal shifts.
TRG is taking the first step by giving young men mentors who will lead by example and encourage young men to live their lives by design rather than by default.

With your help, the 2014 TRG Men’s Retreat will be available for students across Durban, South Africa. We target young men who were raised without a man in their household and who may have been forced to abide by traditional gender roles, resulting in a definition of their masculinity being sculpted by society instead of by themselves.

The Men’s Retreat is a part of the larger TRG Leadership Conference—an eight year old summit taking place in South Africa to equip underserved populations with the solid foundation of skill and leadership on which they can build their futures.

Our initial goal of $5000 will allow us to cater to 15 students and fund two facilitators to bring the conference from conception to fruition. But no matter how much we raise, we promise that every dollar you pledge will go towards making the TRG Men’s Retreat available to students.

We are redefining the lives of men around the world, one at a time, but we can’t do it without you.

Stay tuned for tweets, pics and updates from the Men's Retreat. Thanks!
