This will be the 6th year of the East Coast Two Spirit Society Gathering and Powwow. Every year,, we reach out to Native American and First Nations Two Spirit people and our families to come together with us for a sharing of medicines, ceremony, teachings and workshops.
This year's theme is Honouring Our Elders and we want to ensure that those of us who are in our 60's, 70's and over know how much we value life's experiences, knowledge and wisdom.
We are once again on the land of the Haudenosaunee people in the beautiful Allegany Mountains. We love that camp and its many opportunities, but we need your help. The camp has gone up in its fees from last year and everything has gotten more expensive.
Many of our Elders who would like to come are on fixed incomes and will be unable to attend without support for camp fees, food, and transportation. Our Society has no grants and we exist on the good graces of the occasional small donation from people who believe in us and our work.
You can help in several ways. First, please consider making a donation to our Elders' Fund. Your contribution will help support the Gathering in general, but also Elders who would be otherwise unable to attend. Secondly, share this to your FB page, Tweet it, or Instagram it. Many of us have large networks of folks who truly care about Two Spirit people. Every dollar helps and will be used to fund the expenses for the Gathering and Powwow.
