Edison Innovation Lab Generator
Donation protected
We are the students of the Edison High School Innovation Lab at Edison HS in Huntington Beach, CA. This past weekend 5 vandals entered the school and shutdown the power. This caused our pumps to be shut down and most of our fish died. They suffocated without the needed oxygen in the water. We were raising these White Sea Bass for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife through the Hubbs facility in San Diego. White Sea Bass are heading towards the endangered list due to overfishing. We, the students at Edison volunteer our time along with the teachers to make a difference and to educate people about sustainability. We have students from middle school come and learn about our program and our efforts and we keep campaigning.
We are raising money to place two backup generators into the lab so that a loss of power won't mean a loss of animals ever again. We need to watch out for those who cannot do so for themselves. It is our job to make a difference now so that in the future White Sea Bass can avoid extinction.
We also lost some Tilapia from our Aquaponics farming setup that we run with the Special Abilities Students at our School. We would love your help to make a difference. THANK YOU!
