East 93rd Street Fire Victims Fund

Donation protected
In the early morning hours of October 27th, nearly the exact time of my daughter’s birth 5 years before, a 6-alarm fire broke out in a five story apartment building at 324 east 93rd Street in Manhattan.  One young man lost his life and hundreds of New York City’s bravest swept into action to save the lives of all the other building occupants.  Several suffered minor injuries and a dramatic rope rescue, which my husband Jimmy Lee aided in, saved the life of another Jimmy (James Duffy) who was lifted from his 5th floor window and lowered safely to the ground.  I am incredibly grateful as always to the men and women of the FDNY for their extreme bravery and courage in harrowing circumstances and their commitment to their duty to serve New York City.  I am thankful that my husband was home safely to celebrate our daughter’s birthday and after conversations with our children and as we enter the holiday season, I want to make sure our blessings are now sent to those who really need them most.

Approximately 20 occupants in 8 apartments have lost everything. Mr. Duffy at 81 years old and a resident of that apartment building for over 50 years has nothing left but the clothes on his back.  He and all other building residents are physically recovering but could benefit from our love, charity and good will to see them through their recovery and aid in creating new lives.  Please help me in raising funds to support these New Yorkers in need. I have partnered with the New York City Fire Department Emerald Society Pipe band of which my husband is a member,  to collect funds and provide  donations via there website where donations are tax-deductible but am turning now to GOFUNDME for a wider reach to reach our $50,000 goal!  All funds will go entirely to the residents of the e93rd street apartment building.  Your financial contribution for this cause are greatly appreciated.  Please contact me for other ways in which to help, to arrange for physical donations, or to simply send messages of your thoughts and prayers to the victims.
