Troy Haynes is an 18 year old, kind, compassionate, and athletic teenager with big-time aspirations and dreams in his life. Currently, Troy is a senior at Woodbridge High School (Greenwood, DE) with graduation right around the corner. In addition to being a highly respected student, Troy is a highly respected athlete across the state of Delaware. Troy is a very well-known Quarterback - a four year starter, All-State Player, Blue-Gold All-Star game selection, and a two-time State Champion. Troy committed in December to continue his academic and athletic career at Division Three power Mount Union. Troy is loved by many, especially his family, coaches, and teachers.

On April 26th, Troy was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer. Troy currently has surgery scheduled for May 10th to remove his infected kidney and clean the lymph nodes around his kidney and arteries. Chemotherapy is still a possibility for Troy, depending on the success of this surgery. Lesions are also on Troy's lungs, however, at this time, doctors are most concerned with his infected kidney. Troy has been incredibly strong and positive throughout this process, a testament to his strength and support system.

A long road ahead is in store for Troy and his family, a road of medications, additional tests and treatments - all which will inevitably lead to out of pocket costs and unforeseen expenses such as travel, lodging, etc.

This fund has been created in the hopes that those who love Troy or find his story of interest or inspiration can donate and assist as much as possible.

All Troy has done to this point in his life is win, and there is no doubt in our minds that he will come out of this battle victorious yet again. Troy is going to fight to the best of his ability, and all we can ask is for your continued support. Thank you in advance and God Bless.

Troy underwent a 9 hour surgery this past Friday, May 10th, to remove his kidney. The surgery began robotically, but eventually, doctors needed to cut Troy open to complete the procedure. Upon completion, doctors confirmed that the cancer is at stage 4, as the cancer has spread to other areas in Troy’s body. This week while recovering, Troy will undergo some additional testing to determine what the next step will be on his road to recovery.

Troy is in unbelievable spirits and is beyond grateful for all of the love and support that has been offered not just by the Woodbridge community, but across the State of Delaware and across the entire country. Please continue to keep Troy and his family in your continued thoughts and prayers.
