E614: Project Police Protection

We are E614, a 100% non-profit organization on a mission "Protecting Those Who Serve." We provide our Nation's Police Officers with Level III Armor that they are not typically issued.
What is Level III Armor? An additional vest with steel plate inserts, that is placed over officers' normal vests. It can protect officers from higher velocity rounds of ammunition. It's often not issued by departments due to budgets. Officers are allowed to purchase it themselves, but often do not due to cost. Especially around the holidays, officers have told us, they often must choose the needs of their family over their own.
Why is it important? With gunfire-related officer deaths up 64% this year from last year, this safety equipment could be vital to keeping our law enforcement safe.
How do they get it? E614 believes every officer deserves the opportunity to have this equipment. We have a place on our website at E614.org that allows any officer in need to sign up for a FREE set of this armor, at no cost to them. As we collect funds, we purchase armor, package it, and send it out to individual officers.
How can I help? At our founding in August of 2016, we set goals to help 500 officers by the end of the year. We have helped 193 so far, thanks to generous donations on our website and from our friends and family. There are 2000+ on a waiting list, but at the very least, we want to meet our original goal for the year.
We only have 31 days left raise the funds for equipment for 307 officers. The cost of this armor for E614 (due to bulk discounts with suppliers) is only $185 per officer.
We can't think of a greater Christmas gift than the peace of mind an officer and his/her family gets knowing that he/she is better protected. These brave men and women protect us daily, we feel it is time to return the favor.
Please be assured that 100% of all donations received will be used ONLY to purchase and ship equipment to officers. E614's administrative costs are donated, meaning your donations only fund the cause.
As family of law enforcement, we understand the hardships that the job can bring. We are so grateful that men and women continue to sacrifice their safety for ours. We do this in honor of the fallen officers this year, and hope to continue "Protecting Those Who Serve" for a long time.
