Send Finley to Washington

Finley is my 10 month old Golden Retriever.  My husband Chris got him for me for Valentine's Day.  A month later he told me that me might be relocating to Italy to a new military unit/station. We've waited out the process and we're leaving on the 30th of this month for the next three years to a new home and country.

Finley has a place with my parents in Washington state - they have offered to keep him for us and are excited to have a new dog companion.  We were anticipating a fairly easy go with the airlines - the first person we spoke with quoted us $500.  Easy enough.  But then we found out that airlines require a 2" space above his head to be safely shipped.  Fin is a tall boy.  With the space requirement he has to be shipped in a "Giant" crate - one meant for Great Danes and Irish Wolfhounds.  Because the crate that size is so large - it requires a lot of space on a plane - space that comes at a cost.  Our quote went from $500 to over $1200 really quickly. 

Anything raised here will explicitly go to getting Finley to his new home.  We don't want to part with our dogchild...we just can't afford the price.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you for your generosity.
