From Homeless to Trailer

Donation protected
Hi,

First, Let me tell you who I am. Ed Peterson ,age 59, native Oregonian. All around normal guy with my share of ups and downs. Spent 15 years owning a lawn care company doing lawn work for customers in Denver, Colorado area. Compared to some people, I've got it made. But sometimes life really sucks and I have to ask for help. For such a stubborn person, this is the hardest act I've had to do in my life. I have been essentially been homeless for the past 3 plus years and need to get off the road as my body has worn out.

3 years ago, I came down with a staph infection that had turned septic and ate part of two vertebrae and a disk away in my lower back. 2 weeks in hospital, 8 weeks of infusion therapy. Add that to a divorce, market crash and I was unable to pay my bills. Long story short, I became homeless, sort of. I bought this cargo trailer on craigslist and outfitted to live in like a camper.
I have lived in Walmart parking lots, BLM federal land, State forests and county parks. And been asked to leave all of them at one time or another. For those people who don't know, you are allowed to stay(camp) on public land for two weeks, then you have to move 30 miles away. In essence, I'm a vagabond. I have traveled between Colorado and Arizona to take advantage of the weather. I use public facilities to go to the bathroom and a solar shower. While I have met some tremendously helpful people on this road (Google Bob Wells, Vandweller), In recent months my back has deteriated to where I can't lift heavy objects or walk for long periods. For an old PE major, that is hard to take.

To the current point of my life : I am out of funds and need to get off the vagabond road. My body can't take the physical stress of constantly having to move. I have located a RV park in my home state of Oregon that I can stay at and it is a reasonable cost for space rent and close to my aging father. The problem is, they won't approve my living trailer as it is not self contained or doesn't meet the aesthetic requirements of a typical RV or travel trailer.

I have found this 19 foot trailer that will pass their living domicile requirements. It is 10 years old and in pretty good shape for Oregon winters.
I have arrainged to sell my cargo trailer but still in need of $3500 to finance the deal. I am asking for your help out of embarrassment and I hope you don't judge. If you can help an old friend out in time of need, I would be extremely gratefull. If these campaigns aren't your thing, I certainly understand. Take care.

Ed
