My husband needs a liver transplant because of nonalcoholic cirrohsis from hemochromatosis and fatty liver disease, we don't know when he'll get the call could be long time, or not.
Although he has medical insurance we will need money for a deductible and doctor appt fees, medicine copy's. There will be time off from work for both of us, I will need to care for him after he comes home from the hospital 24/7 for a minimum of 3 weeks. We will still have living expenses of utilities, food, insurance, gas for transportation and so on.
It is very difficult to plan for such an unknown thing. Bill is a hardworking man who has always been self sufficient and active. He almost never asks for help. I've seen him do some very generous things for famiy, friends and strangers sometimes at great personal cost to which they never even knew. Some of those strangers became friends. As a young man He bought his mother a new car to drive and keep while he drove an older truck.
We don't know what the future holds healthwise or financially but any little bit helps.

"Life is not a journey to the grave to arrive in a pretty & well preserved body but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out proclaiming "WOW, what a ride!""
