This is for Ian.

Ian was diagnosed with Leukemia when he was a baby. Demian, his oldest brother, was his bone marrow transplant donor. The transplant was a success! We are so grateful for that, but he has had several residual physical issues going on as a result of his treatments.

A required cataract surgery meant the removal of the housing for his eye's lenses. Over time using contacts has affected his corneas and irritated his eyes. Ian has always taken all his physical problems in stride.
He has always been such a great source of joy for our family. Always making us laugh and lightening up the situation. In spite of that he has gone on to get degrees in AOS Information Technology, BA Information Science and MBA Sustainable Business.

He is an amazing guy and we love him very much. Having some finances to fall back on while he can't work will give him more peace of mind and able to relax and heal.

As a little brother it took me awhile to understand and acclimate to Ian's difficulties. He's always just been my suplex-dispensing big brother. Looking back it's not always with perfect sensitivity that I've responded to his physical issues with, but the net I take away; he is and will remain an incredible inspiration to me for the diligent and positive nature in which he has dealt with them.
I look forward to the positive results of this surgery. Not least because we are business partners now, and I need him to be in tip-top shape to help carry us forward.
As Ian prepares to deal with the issues of this important surgery; please consider contributing to this fund to help him recuperate without the added burden of financial stress.
Thank you very much.
- Ian's Brother, Brandon

Soon I'll be bionic, but before I become super human I could use some help.
I'm having eye surgery, which is ultimately a good thing, but comes with some hardship as well. I'm scheduled in October and November to have lenses implanted in my eyes so I will no longer need contact lenses. This is awesome because I've been wearing contact lenses since I was seven years old due to cataract surgery.
As part of the pre-op procedure I'll be wearing just high prescription glasses for most of September so the doctors can get an accurate measurement of my eyes for the surgery. This means I won't be able to drive to get to interviews or to a job if I was hired. Also, I won't be able to do much of anything for a week after each surgery - doctor's orders.
When I moved back to New York from Iowa this past April I started looking for a full time job. Although when I scheduled the surgery I shifted my focus to freelance web design and internet marketing.
This is where you come in! I'd be eternally grateful if you and your friends would spread the word about my new business. This will let me work from home the next few months and grow my business by helping others do the same.
I'm working with Brandon Digges, my brother. Here's the website we're currently building: www.VirtualGeekSupport.com
If you'd like to donate, in addition to spreading the word, the money will go towards living essentials and business expenses.
Your soon to be cyborg friend,

Why it's needed:
Ian's income will be reduced over the ~3 months it will take his eyes to heal throughout the surgery process.
Why you should help:
Ian has dealt with physical problems since a child, and has always taken it in stride. The only difference this time is that he can't do it by himself! Please consider contributing.
