My name is Laura Brandt and I want to tell you a story about one of my dearest friends, Nichole, and her son Jacob. Nichole has been a single mom for twelve years; one of the hardest working, sweetest, most giving and compassionate souls you will ever meet. She works two jobs, six days a week, to make sure that her son was never lacking for anything. She has given everything for him and now is the time to lift her up.
Jacob had a routine surgery last week to get his tonsils out. He was doing great, recovering well and all seemed good. Sadly, the worst and most unexpected happened. Nichole checked on him and gave him his medicine at 2:00am, and when she went back to check again at 6:00am, Jacob was gone. Just like that, the kind, caring, funny boy who lit up a room with his adorable smile had passed away in his sleep from surgical complications. Now, this hard working momma who lived her whole life for Jacob is left with empty arms, a funeral to pay for, and the stress of rent, bills and everyday life to deal with while trying to grieve her only child.
NOTHING can take the pain of losing Jacob, but at least we can come together and remove the stress of finances during this unbearably hard time. We are trying to raise the funds quickly in order to cover the funeral arrangements and hopfully some immediate bills.
