Dusty The Dustman

In February 2016, Dusty was diagnosed with Prostate cancer. By the time of his diagnosis, the cancer had metastasized to his bones. Dusty had undergone several rounds of chemotherapy and radiation and the treatments had provided some relief and more time.

However, Dusty's symptoms became more challenging due to the aggressive nature of the cancer. His medical team advised that further treatment is experimental and would likely do more harm than good.

During his remaining days, the focus was on helping Dusty feel comfort, support, and love as he continued his journey.

For our most beloved Dusty,  February 16, 1952 - January 10, 2017, rest in peace.  

The amount listed is significant to the month, day and year Dusty was born.  It's only significance is the date he came into the world and not a true amount in which we are raising.  

Give what you feel, the funds will go toward the future post-secondary education for Dusty's surviving children Parker (17) and Molly (20).

Thank you to all who have reached out to the Schmidts. They feel so fortunate to have so many caring people in their lives, including their family, friends, and all of the people Dusty has crossed paths with through the years.
