Dustin's Hurricane Harvey Fund

$37,300 of $25,000 goal

Raised by 124 people in 9 months
Created August 27, 2017

Hi everyone. My name is Lisa Campbell and I work with Dustin at NeoTract along with 300 other employees. Dustin and his family live in Friendswood, TX and we just learned that he lost his home in Hurricane Harvey. The good news is that he and his family were rescued by boat but his home is completely flooded and insurance will, most likely, not cover everything. The picture that he texted was taken before the first floor was completely submerged. If you'd like to support Dustin, Crystal and their family, please make a contribution.

This is my first time using GoFundMe and I read that Dustin will receive your contribution after he enters his phone number .. probably days from now since he's trying to get his family to dry land. Please let me know what questions you have.

Thanks, Lisa

Neotract Family,
It is hard to find the words to appropriately thank each and every one of you for your prayers, thoughts, and generosity. The last few weeks have been daunting to say the least. We lost most everything within our home but that is all secondary to the safety of my family, which is better than ever. As I reflect on the range of emotions my family and I have felt, the one emotion that bubbles to the top is “blessed.” To see your outpouring of support was humbling to say the least. I find it difficult to even talk about without becoming emotional.

When the waters were rising quickly in my home I grabbed my kids and the precious few belongings that we valued most. As I reflect on those moments it really puts into perspective what matters most, people that you love! You’ve made my little family feel like we are a part of a huge family, because that’s exactly what we are here at Neotract, a family.

I pondered when to send this email to everyone in light of the Teleflex acquisition taking place. Life changing moments like the flood and the sale of our company can bring about a wide range of feelings and emotions. So, as my family and I hit reset on our home and building our life back to where it was, I’m reminded of how blessed I am to work alongside you and be a part of this great company.

Transition points in life, both personally and professionally, can test our resolve and what we believe we can handle. But if I’ve learned one thing through Hurricane Harvey, it’s that with Family we can achieve things we thought were impossible. With family we have all that we need because we take care of each other through the ups and downs. I used to view my family as 3 little boys and a wife. I now know that my family is much, much bigger. Each and every one of you are family. When in need, please put our number at the top of your list!

We Love You,
Dustin, Crystal, Hudson, Brody and Brooks

Happy Labor Day everyone. We continue to be humbled by the overwhelming support for Dustin and his family. Below is an update from Dustin:

"I'm doing good. Last bit of demo today and then house will sit for a week or so and dry out. Have some contractor meetings this week but plan to ease back in to things starting Wednesday. Work will be a welcomed distraction from everything. The gofund me turned out to be my saving grace. Without it I wouldn't have been able to pay the demo guys and secure the sheet rock workers. Truly a blessing!!"

Thank you everyone!
Lisa

Dustin and his family were blessed by a neighbor whose house was not flooded, and this allows them to rent while Dustin's home is being put back together. This blessing also provides them the opportunity to monitor the progress from across the street with all of the insurance adjusters and contractors that are going to be coming and going. Additionally, Dustin was able to get back into his home earlier this week while the local community, neighbors, and the high school football team rallied together to help them remove every piece of furniture, as well as their belongings, from their house. Now they can begin taking photos of the damage and allow contractors to begin their work.

There’s a lot of work ahead for Dustin and his family, but they have a great attitude and continue to be incredibly thankful for the outpouring of support and prayers.

Hi everyone. The response and support for Dustin and his family are amazing! Thank you.

This is an update to say that you've contributed almost $30K !

We have an update from Dustin, this is from a day or so ago:
We are still stranded. The rain hasn't stopped. I rode a bike with a friend and then waded to get to my house and grab a few things. Water was up to my stomach on my street after it had receded. Within a few hours of rain relief it started back with vengeance and the water started to rise. Most likely doing more damage than the initial storm. We can't go anywhere and it's appearing that the rain won't stop until tomorrow. We are hoping to have someone bring us food today. We have three families and we don't have much more to eat. We do have power here which is nice. Neighbors are all pitching in so we should be fine. Waking up to sounds of rescue boats is such an odd feeling. I'll keep you in the loop of our progress. God Bless everyone for their notes and contributions.
