Duffy's Cut - Fund the Project

The

Duffy's Cut Project is in need of your help. The excavation has been on hold for over a year, since we are in dire need of funding to pay for a week's worth of core samples at the stone monument. The cost of extracting core samples is high ($2000 per day for 7 days are needed).  Without these core samples we will not be able to pinpoint the exact location of the remaining Irish men of Duffy's Cut.
We have already found several of the men and women and have been able to return their bones to their homeland of Ireland for proper burial, but we need your help to get the rest of the men out of this shallow unmarked grave and get them home to rest in peace. We have relied almost entirely on donations and volunteers and we would be so very grateful for anything that you can give us now in this final leg of their journey.

Thank you so much.

This site constitutes what is known in Ireland as a 'Cillin', which is any area of land used for the marginalised burial of unmarked individuals. The possible presence of infection would further confirm the nature of the site. The site should be considered of historical significance and treated accordingly. If I can help just contact me, Toni Maguire (Archaeologist & anthropologist)
