I set this page up for a close friend and his family, Jeffrey Trones.
Jeffrey is a 10 year old who is very fun, loving, smart, and energetic. He has excelled in school, placing towards the top in spelling bees as well as being selected to participate in Math Meets. Jeffrey loves to play as many sports as possible; the two main ones are football and basketball. On the warm summer days he likes to catch some interesting animals, such as; frogs, snakes, and turtles. When it comes to camping and fishing, he enjoys it most when he is with his wonderful, caring, and loving family. During rainy, snowy, and windy days, Jeffrey is usually inside playing on his Xbox and Nintendo Ds as well as spending time on his tablet.
On August 6, 2014, Jeffrey and his family received some heart breaking news. Jeffrey had been diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma Bone Cancer in his foot. Ewings Sarcoma is very rare and only accounts for 1% of childhood cancers.
Recently Jeffrey has started Chemotherapy treatments at the University of Minnesota Children’s Hospital. Over the next year, Jeffrey will have to receive over 25 Chemo treatments along with surgeries. Due to Jeffrey and his family living in North Dakota and having to travel to Minnesota every other weekend for treatments, it is getting very expensive along with the high medical costs associated with the treatments.
On September 28, 2014 there will be a Benefit Car Show and Stereo Competition at Dakotah Speedway from 10 AM to 4 PM for Jeffrey and his family to help with travel and medical expenses. Hopefully it will bring some help and a little relief to Jeffrey’s family during this very hard time.
