Baby Aurich Dream! - IVF Journey

Boy and Girl meet, a connection is made, they fall in love, get married….and the rest is history!

In time, “usually” their family starts to grow and the two become three, four, etc. “Usually” is the key word here. Unfortunately, the “usual” for other people has not applied to us.

In January of last year, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Endometriosis. Though some people have heard of it, it’s an interesting disease as there is not much known about how it’s caused nor are there many treatments available. Endometriosis can cause anywhere from mild to debilitating pain depending on the person and generally causes infertility. After my surgery in October, I was told that I have an extremely aggressive form of Endometriosis which could potentially limit my “window” of having children. If the disease spreads as predicted, I could lose any chance of having a child after another 2 months. As Jason and I both earnestly desire a family, this has been a hard reality to face. Where most couples have years to try, we have been told by doctors that we can only plan on a few months.

Although we have tried a few suggested paths of conception, they have not proven fruitful at this time. My pain has come back in full force, sometimes debilitating, which leads us to believe that the doctors may have inadvertently overestimated the timeframe we have to conceive. In getting pregnant, there may also the added benefit of pregnancy causing the endometriosis to go dormant during the pregnancy with the possibility of it remaining dormant even after I've given birth. If this were to happen, not only would we have the tremendous joy in becoming parents, but we may be able to conceive naturally in the future!

As it’s our heart’s desire to have children and the window of opportunity is shrinking rapidly, we are moving forward with IVF (In-Vetro Fertilization). Although we are excited to start this journey, it will be expensive (roughly $18-20,000) and invasive, plus it can be quite scary as it doesn’t always work (there is a 60% success rate with our clinic with the added wild card of my endometriosis). Nonetheless, we are stepping out in faith and prayer knowing that if this is meant to be, it will be.

We are not asking to raise money for the entire treatment, but for a small portion of the procedure. If more money is graciously given than we are asking for, it will all be applied to expenses related to becoming pregnant and other necessary costs through delivery. We have already taken the first step in the IVF cycle and the money in its entirety will be due in roughly 3 - 4 short weeks (February 26).

If you feel led and are able to donate anything, any amount would help…$2, $5, $10…etc.

Thank you in advance for your prayers and support as we fight for our dream to become parents! We appreciate it more than we could ever express.

All our love, Hannah & Jason
