Hello Friends and Family:
Many of you know how much music means to me, from production, to performance, it has been a major part of my life for my ENTIRE life. Many of you have heard me sing live, have supported me through social media, and have also worked with me one-to-one in some musical capacity.
One of the main questions I get, is "when is your project coming out?" I think that is a very common question in the indie industry. Many of you, my talented friends, are being asked the same question. Well, I have good news for you. The wait is over.
In the beginning of 2014, my life changed. I was on the tail end of finishing an R&B project, and as soon as I was getting ready to release it, I just couldn't. I mean, I couldn't put that music out there, it was not a true reflection of the man I am, and the man that I was called to be.
What I have learned is that my individuality is rooted in one reality: I know God. Many people know God, but what makes it special are those nuances that only you and God know. The relationship, or in some instances, the lack thereof can really shape your identity.
That is what MASTERPIECE is all about. It is a case study, presented to you in song. It truly chronicles my journey back to the safe zone, with a starting point of nowhere. It is a raw, unedited (figuratively) picture of a relationship with God that is authenticated by simple truth telling, something I personally feel lacks in the Body of Christ-especially relating to young people.
I wont preach here, but there is a significant shift in the opposite direction of the cross that I personally understand, I was caught up in the tide too. The hope is that I can persuade at least one person that a life with Christ doesn't mean a life that is boring, mundane, or in some cases ingenuine. But rather, a life with Christ is abundant, and continuously bears much fruit.
Aside from that, the music is dope, I wont lie. It features production mainly from myself, but most notably Bobby Hester Jr. and Luke Witherspoon III.
Why are you receiving this?
Becuase releasing a project as an independent is tough...and EXPENSIVE. There are still some expenses: Like mastering costs, and website hosting, and printing hard copies of the CD. By donating to this crowdfunding effort, you are standing with me, just as you always have, but with a little something extra sprinkled on top.
