Every Little Bit Helps.
With the ALS Ice Bucket challenges I have realized,.. yes every little bit really does add up! With so many that did the challenges either giving nothing (oops...) or they gave like $10 ALS At the time I am writing this has received $92 MILLION Dollars! ...wow. So I absolutely don’t want to take anything from the challenge and what it has done for ALS,.. but,.. I don’t feel a personal connection to it. Furthermore I would rather give to something that in my I heart I feel like I want to help.

Introduce Carter.
He stepped into our lives a few years back and we fell in love with him and his family. Carter is this VIVACIOUS cartoon character of a kid that you cant help but enjoy having around. As a coach-you cant help but want him on your team! (As my husband has been his coach in multiple sports..) He's quick and nimble and loves football! Almost exactly a year ago tho-he became a bit sick. Not terribly,.. but things were lingering and something, God, urged his parents to take him to get checked out. Doctors felt the need to check his blood work and noticed it was just "off" several weeks later, after a long stint in the hospital and doing bone marrow biopsies, DNA testing, and other blood work. They found the culprit. Its called Fanconi Anemia.

**What is Fanconi Anemia?
Fanconi anemia (FA), named for Swiss pediatrician, Guido Fanconi, is a very rare, primarily recessive genetic disorder. If both parents carry a defect (mutation) in the same FA gene, each of their children has a 25% chance of inheriting the defective gene from both parents. When this happens, the child will have FA.

Fanconi anemia is an inherited disease that can lead to bone marrow failure and cancer. Though considered primarily a blood disease, FA may affect all systems of the body. It is a complex and chronic disorder that is psychologically demanding. FA is also a cancer-prone disease, affecting patients decades earlier than the general population. (**Ref. www.Fanconi.org)

In the next Month Carter will be receiving Chemo and begin a Bone Marrow transplant. Its scary. And while living in the hospital for at the absolute minimum of 100 days Mom cant work! So above the added stress this disorder has placed on their minds and hearts, the financial burden is not lost. I will be accepting my ice bucket challenge and will be giving to this Go Fund Me to begin trying to help and bridge the financial Gap they experience from needing to be with Carter... and who knows exactly where their road will lead.

If you feel in your heart you would like to do the same-well this is just the way you can...

**I have gotten the somewhat reluctant consent of Carters parents to set this up for them. One thing that put them at peace for setting this up is, any donations made that they don’t need they will then donate to Fanconi.Org
