I have lived in Drumree (Co. Meath) since April 2014, having since adopted two cats. In addition, I have been regularly feeding the feral cats in the area, and with the help of the funds collected here, I have managed to have one of them spayed, another one neutered (some of the cost was covered with direct donations to the clinic), and provided some winter shelter to them. (NOTE: additional shelter is needed as there is only one hut, and they won't share..)

In the spring 2017, I was looking for homes for these cats as I was going to move back to Bray, but I am staying in Drumree for now, so the remaining outdoor cats are fine as they are.

However, my financial situation is not the best, at the moment, so I would much appreciate any help towards feeding them, and most of the males still need to be neutered. (Hansom may also need some additional veterinary care.)

Little Mami's younger kittens, RuaRua and Scáth, were rehomed together in May 2017, to a safe country location in Co. Kildare, where they continue to live as outdoor cats with regular feeding. (They'd be welcome indoors as well, but so far have chosen not to take that option..)

♥ Little Mami has been spayed and microchipped.

♥ Hansom is the daddy to all Little Mami's kittens, and will need neutering. He is an older cat, and may have some hip issues, although he is able to run and climb without much trouble.

♥ GinGin is Little Mami and Hansom's first baby - all grown up now! He needs neutering as well.

♥ Fiarshúileach appeared around summer/autumn of 2017.. He is a young male, and has not been neutered.. He gets along with Little Mami - only if she is on her own - and shares a plate of food with her, but does not get along with the other males..

♥ TabTab appeared, out of the blue, in January 2018, just after NDCR had collected Beannaithe/Pitchy for fostering.. (Sadly, Beannaithe/Pitchy had a bad tumour in his nose, and had to be pts.. RIP)
TabTab had bad battle wounds, in April 2018, and I managed to get him into a carrier, and take him to the vets. While there, he was also neutered and microchipped.
He has taken over the cat hut.. He gets along with Little Mami, but doesn't get along with any of the other outdoor cats (who are all male).. He is extremely friendly with me, and would like a forever home.. If anyone wants to adopt him, please contact me - home check will apply.

Please email me, if you can help: / Stella Stenroos

Just a little update on TabTab ♥ ..... Even after being neutered, he's still very territorial, and will fight any male cat who dares to come to the patio during the day.. (The other males now sneak their meals during the night, after TabTab has eaten, and gone to sleep..) He gets along with female cats, though, especially Little Mami ♥ ..... A friend recently brought some wormer pills, and flea stuff, so TabTab has been treated, and his coat feels so silky and smooth now.. He's still very skinny as you can see in the pictures (from a couple days ago), but I think he's started putting on a little bit weight, which is good! He likes to live dangerously, though - he sometimes deliberately annoys the doberman next door.. :O (Lovely dog, but does NOT like cats..) ..... We are quite low on food, at the moment, so any donations or shares would be much appreciated as always ♥ If anyone is in the area, and would like to drop in some cat food, please get in touch =) Note: wet food would be better as regular dry food may cause urinary issues for neutered males (like TabTab), and I'd like to avoid that ♥ Thanks for reading ♥

I don't think I have mentioned Pitchy, in my updates.. He was a chubby cat, who would appear on the patio occasionally, but he looked so well fed, that I always assumed that he had a family nearby. I have attached a picture of him from July 2015.

In January 2018, a very skinny and ill cat appeared on the patio.. I took him to the vets, and North Dublin Cat Rescue kindly offered to collect him for more treatment, and a loving foster home. I named him Beannaithe.

Unfortunately, it turned out that he had a bad tumour in his nose, and his condition suddenly deteriorated. He had to be put to sleep.. =(

Although I had only known him a few days (I thought), I mourned him like I'd known him a lifetime - it helped a little bit to know that his last days were spent in a good home where he had lots of love and comfort.. ♥

It was about three months later when I was going through my old photos, that I finally made the connection.. I saw a picture of Pitchy, and wondered where he'd been lately as I probably hadn't seen him in a year or so..

And then I looked at his markings..

Yes, Pitchy was Beannaithe! Beannaithe was Pitchy!

When he arrived in January, he was in such poor condition, that I never even thought he might be Pitchy!

Having realised this, I sort of mourned him again - now as Pitchy..

I have no idea what had happened to him, to end up like that.. Did someone move out and leave him behind? (If so, why hadn't he come to the patio sooner - he knew there was always food available..?) Did someone take him somewhere else to dump, and it took him a long time to find his way back?

I'll never know what happened to him, but I know that for his last couple of weeks, he was safe and loved ♥

RIP Pitchy / Beannaithe

We had tons of snow in early March 2018, which was challenging as I only have one proper cat hut for the outdoor cats - I made a secondary hut with what I had, and kept changing their hot water bottles 3-4 times per day. Luckily, all cats survived the snow horror (even Hansom, whom I hadn't seen in a long time, since he was bitten by the hunt dogs in December!)

However, with the extra cold temperatures, the cats were eating much more than they would normally, which means, we're very, VERY low on cat food, and I just don't have the funds to buy more =(

I am asking for help - even tiny donations would help, or if you can't donate, please share the link ♥

We are due to get some donated cat food, but I don't know when, and there's not enough left to feed the Drumree cats until then.. =(

The snow also collapsed the cat run, which was used for safe outings for my indoor cats =( It can't be fixed as the wood had gone all soft, and it's just broken beyond repair.. I am not asking for donations towards a new cat run, though, but should anyone have timber, or tools they no longer need, feel free to contact me - my email is on the front page of this campaign, in the footer of the story ♥ Thank you ♥

17th December - I've just observed Little Mami dragging her bum against the patio, so it looks like she has worms.

Unfortunately, I can't afford to get Broadline, so I am asking for donations towards four doses (to treat all the outdoor regulars - Little Mami, Fiarshúileach, GinGin, and Hansom).

Thank you ♥
