Dr. David S. O'Hanley Memorial Garden

Tax deductible
Dr. David S. O’Hanley was a teacher for almost 24 years at Trinity School at River Ridge.  He taught across the breadth of Trinity’s science program and served the student body in myriad ways: as a robotics mentor, lacrosse coach and facilitator of the Bluegrass Club.  He helped establish many beloved traditions within the curricular program such as the Medieval Banquet, the Phalanx Battle and hikes to the ponds.  He is quoted as responding to student questions by saying “Teaching is my vocation.  I am here to answer your questions.”  Dr. O’Hanley died peacefully on February 16, 2018.

In honor of the many ways that Dr. O’Hanley brought people together, particularly in bringing us together to marvel at the beauty of God’s creation, we want to create an outdoor space where the students, faculty, staff, parents, and guests of Trinity School can gather together.

So, we are asking members of the Trinity community and friends of Dr. O’Hanley to help us raise $10,000 for the Dr. David S. O’Hanley Memorial Garden.  This garden will be a gathering space situated under the blossoming trees on Trinity’s grounds with ample seating.  Most notably, it will feature a serpentine landscaping rock, the primary subject of study in his geological research, engraved with an excerpt from one of Dr. O’Hanley’s morning prayers at the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year.

Any funds raised beyond the expenses of the garden will go towards Trinity’s science program and robotics team.

Thank you for your support in memory of Dr. O’Hanley.
