The bad bad rains and flash flooding on June 1st completely destroyed this drive off of Brushwood Dr in York, SC . This disaster left the four families that live down the drive trapped with no way in or out. These families don’t have the money or resources to fix this massive undertaking and need help. Any little bit would be appreciated to help get them to a point where they can leave their homes and just be able to drive to work or the store. This was a huge surprise and not something can will be easily fixed. They have reached out to emergency services in the county and the Red Cross and have not been able to get Amy help at all. Any help at all is welcome. Thank you so much!!!
Take a look at this video of the drive.
We are continuing to work toward getting the permits needed to begin work on the driveway. Right now the families are getting out on four wheelers and they have gotten their vehicles out due to kind neighbors allowing them to use an old logging road to get cars out after some modifications. They are now parked on the side of the road at the top of the drive and reach their cars via four wheeler or on foot. There has been an offer of someone willing to donate labor and equipment but the families will have to come up with the funds for materials. Currently they are struggling to get permitting to fix the drive and the fund to pay for the materials that the county is mandating that they use.
