Dresses for the Drought
Donation protected
Hi its Anita and Tashoni from Dresses for the Drought.
We have been so humbled, inspired and brought to tears at the absolutely generosity of Australians wanting to support other Australian's in donating their formal wear, to ensure other young Australians and their families are able to enjoy significant events.
We have had an enormous amount of people ask us to create a go fund me page to give them another option of donating, and we were very hesitant to, as the cause was about donating dresses not money.
Where this money is going specifically:
However, after consulting, we have determined that there is a specific need and want for those who wish to donate to cover the cost (fuel/freight costs) of the beautiful garments getting to their final destination, into the arms of young australians (we cannot wait to share you photos/videos of this happening).
We also wish to send our some trained counsellors to drought affected regions in where we are donating, to check in and provide assistance to those who may need it. This whole idea was around improving mental health outcomes for those affected in the bush
We would also like to offer some makeup services etc to schools on the day of the formal occasions. Its important that we support the local community, so these funds will go towards the cost of having local makeup artists perform these roles.
Any surplus fund will go towards directly funding mental health services (directly to the affected areas), as in (us) sending in trained persons and making sure the funds go exactly where needed. Any other surplus will go to providing food packages for drought families in need.
We hope that you will jump on board if you can. So many people wanted another way to help rather than just send their dresses.
Lots of small acts of kindness, really helps!
