Donna the Buffalo Bus Fund
$86,180 of $85,000 goal
Donna the Buffalo has been touring for over 25 years. We spend nearly half the year on the bus. At this point we cannot continue doing what we do without buying a new bus.
We put 1 million miles on the original engine traveling from coast to coast; from our home in Trumansburg on down to Suwannee, from Merle Fest to Mcdowell Mountain, from Blue Heron to Grand Targhee, and every fine venue in between. Over mountains, through valleys, across plains, and desert, our bus has enabled us to share our music with you all.
In the last 6 months we have replaced the engine twice. At this point, with yet another round of mechanical issues due to the bus's age, we are struggling to make it to our shows. The time has come. We have no choice but to buy a new bus.
Owning and maintaining a bus is no small feat. Jeb, along with our driver Loi, Jordy, and many others through the years have worked extremely hard to maintain the bus and keep us all safe on the road. We appreciate everyone's devotion, love, and hard greasy grueling work to keep us in our purple bus on the road all of these years.
We love our bus and we are sad to see it go. We have wonderful memories with you all because of that bus. We will carry this love on to the new bus.
All money raised will be used directly towards the purchase of the new bus. See below for the levels of donation and included incentives.
We have been shopping steadily and we have found one that we are very excited about.
Thank you all for your continued support, love, and friendship. It means the world to us. We can't do this without you and we can't thank you enough.
Peace and Love Always,
Donna the Buffalo
PS: This campaign was listed by our manager, Ben Greenberg, not a 3rd party. Funds will go directly to the band for the purchase of the bus. Feel free to call 607.227.2294 with any questions.
I'm not sure who made you in charge of how people are allowed to spend their money and who's allowed to fundraise, but you've been publicly attacking me and the band for days, enough already. Let's set a few things straight before you resume thinking you're in charge of everything, everywhere, at all times 1) dtb and their fans have raised nearly a million dollars to support the fight against AIDS and in support of many other causes across the country in their time as a band. This community gives and gives.. I'd willingly check our resume against yours in the charitable department 2) GoFundMe has many campaigns that warrant attention. Raising money for a bus is not life or death. But GoFundMe is a platform set up with a category specifically for artists encouraging artists to raise money here as well. It's simply unfair to then bash the artists for doing so 3) You have zero clue what it financially takes to be a band. The impact the internet has had on some bands is devastating. Record deals disappeared, album sales all but disappeared. An entire revenue stream for the band all but disappeared. After over 25 years this is the bands first ever fundraiser where they're saying,"hey, we could really use some help from our fans". We simply wouldn't be able to afford a bus without their help and without a bus, we could not exist. So the fans are pitching in and saying,"hey, we'd like to keep you around". The fans' response has been incredible. For you to continually spew negativity all over this campaign has been misdirected. Channel your energy to doing something positive and leave us alone already
Rock on, Mr. Greenberg and DtB. It's simple, if you have $, you can choose: yes, I will put some here or no, I will not. There will always be millions of causes and ways to spend; if this ones not for you, just walk away. If it is, well yaay, let's get this party started.
I have no idea who or what you are responding to....but your comment/post is Right on. YOU are fabulous Barnaby and I'm so happy you manage Donna the Buffalo. I I'VE MY TRIBE.
YaY! That poor old bus was on it's last legs, long ago! Congratulations!
No one is better at Wildlife Management than Barnaby!!!! Kudos to Barnaby, DtB and all of us!!!!
