Donations needed to assist family tragedy

$21,399 of $25,000 goal

Raised by 288 people in 1 month

Karina Gonzalez Baltazar was a 17-year-old girl who passed away in a tragic semi-collision accident on February 23th, 2019. With her in the car was her niece Beverly (12), nephew Junior (11), and sister Fidelina (Edilma). Karina fought for her life in the hospital of Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Mary’s Campus. The doctors did everything possible to keep her alive; unfortunately, her heart and other internal organs were failing just as she had a cerebral hemorrhage and multiple breaks throughout her body. Early Saturday morning, her heart could not handle the stress the accident put on her body and stopped working. They tried to resuscitate her, but she had already left this world and joined God.

Karina Gonzalez Baltazar lived in Lake City, MN with her sister Fidelina and Fidelina’s two children Beverly and Junior. The children and the mother were all brought into the ICU with internal and external injuries. Fidelina suffered a concussion and a fracture in her shoulder. Beverly has seven broken ribs and contusions on her lungs along with internal bruising. Junior has a broken femur, lacerations on his eyes and face, internal bruising, and a lung infection. There was also a concern about a possible spinal injury.  Fidelina is a single mother who provided everything for Karina, Beverly, and Junior alone. Because of these injuries, she is without work. With no income for the family, we are asking for the community’s help. We are seeking donations to be able to send Karina’s mortal remains to her country of origin; La Felicidad, San Marcos, Guatemala and to cover short term daily living and medical expenses for Fidelina (Edilma), Beverly and Junior.

Any gift would be greatly appreciated!

God bless you!

It’s been a week already since the accident. so far, Edilma and Junior have been discharged, however Beverly was supposed to be discharged today but the doctors want to keep monitoring her until Monday because they found other complications with her spinal cord.
The family and I thank you for all the support we get from you all. We are grateful to be part of this wonderful community.
God bless you all!
