Hurricane Harvey has taken everything--except their faith and their resolve.   Don and his family were forced to evacuate when over 5 feet of water filled their home and destroyed all of their personal belongings, including their cars.

There are lots of ways to give to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey, but if you're like me, it is always a blessing to actually be a part of helping someone that you know is truly in need and would never ask.

This one's personal.  This is our brother and sister, niece and nephews.  No gift is too small.  God will provide--I just happen to believe He chooses to use people like you and me to make a difference!  Prayer is crucial.  The damage is more than physical--it's emotional and spiritual.  Giving to meet the physical need will not bring back the lost photos or heirlooms, but it will bring HOPE.

Starting over from scratch isn't easy.  You can be assured that this family will use the money wisely to replace the items that were lost.  Don has served the Lord faithfully in full-time ministry for over 3 decades, many times sacrificing his own comfort to help others.  Won't you help?  Even a small gift would say to Don and Denise, "I care!"

We have arranged for them to withdraw all funds directly from this account.

Family and Friends,
First of all what a great family and friends. Thank you each for your support and wonderful prayers. These last two weeks seem like a couple months.
Continue praying - the adrenaline is gone but the garage is still full of dirty flooded things and disorganized things. Moving is hard, down sizing is hard, not knowing where things are is hard, and our full throttle lives are back.
School and work have all started full tilt and so time to sort and clean is hard to find. Last night was time to wash mold off and leather jackets and baseball gloves and fold the huge load of laundry (everything has to be washed). "Where are my shoes and where is that specific shirt?" Are heard daily. So pray for steady strength and patience. There are still people who's houses are under water. The rescues are over, the relief is coming and the rebuilding has just begun. Seriously, thank you for your prayers! Houston has handled this unbelievably (especially the churches) but the stress is still here.
Oh and life continues! The boys are both in school and football. So new driving patterns are being formed from the house to school. (Both schools start and stop at different times of course.) Tonight Zach and Isaiah play freshman and JV games and Isaiah has a Varsity football game in Austin Friday. (Ike is technically not starting Friday so was asked if he wanted to help the JV team since it is thin on players and like a true Munton he said sure.)
So Thursday Night Denise and I will split up to watch games and Friday Denise and I are driving to Austin. Partly to watch Isaiah play. Partly to get Bob and Lois' car they loaned us back to them. And partly just to stop and make a date of the night!!!
This weekend I am in Denver doing a Saturday rehearsal and a Sunday wedding. (People still want to get married and this two strong wonderful Christian leaders!)
Saturday Denise has a funeral for Uldine Bisagno our beloved wife of the Pastor Emeritus Brother John. They are expecting 2 to 3,000. Since Monday Denise and her office have 12 funerals line up - some funeral/memorials pushed back because of Harvey and other funerals just happening.
Harvey is in many ways in the review mirror. Life goes on. So seriously thank you again for praying:) This is the harder side of grief and loss.
I took the family out last night - no cooking, no dishes just a great meal. Bake potato, salad and everyone picked the meat of their choice! It was nice. We are in a house, have our vehicles taken care of and have a wonderful family and tons of friends! God is good! And when things are hard we recognize His goodness all the more!!! So thank you for your prayers and for your on going prayers.

Blessed,
Don and Denise

PS I finally took a video of the house. I'll send soon.

This picture made national news. A guys truck got stuck Sunday morning in the feeder road next to our old house. Isaiah (3rd from right) and Zach (1st on right) are pushing the truck through the water onto dry land. Washington Post, CNN, CBS,... post it. Texans helping Texans. The rest of the story:
The left of the picture - about 25 feet away is a sink hole. While the boys are pushing the truck the sink hole expands to a 20yard by 5yard sink hole. The truck driver seen in the picture seen the sink hole expanding and scars the boys away. The truck stays in the water until Thursday. The sink hole never gets any bigger but the beltway (8 lane highway is flooded with a mile of very deep water.

Pretty awesome don't you think?

Thank you again for the many prayers!
