I joined the board of the San Francisco Education Fund recently because they provide such an incredible asset to SF's public schools: volunteers.
These volunteers help provide the public school children with 1:1 support that they are otherwise unable to receive given the large class sizes or inability to get support at home.
The San Francisco Education Fund harnesses the power of the community to equip every public school student with the skills to succeed in college, career and civic responsibility. It uses data to target resources where they are needed most, engage volunteers in classrooms, provide grants to educators and award scholarships to students, to build a bright future for our city and its young people.
In addition to being on the board, I am on the finance committee and spend a great deal of time raising money. Any donation helps!
