A Home4Disabled Queers: It’s more likely than you think!
Hello and thank you for clicking on us! We are a found family of four queer folk with multiple disabilities and health problems between us, and we are attempting to forge a better life together. At the moment, all four of us have little hope of living safely on our own, and often don’t have the local support we need to get by in our day to day lives, which makes our lives far more difficult and painful than they could be if we just had a safe and stable environment in which to live and adequately support each other. Which is why we are trying to club together and buy a house together where all four of us could live with financial stability, physical autonomy and the emotional support we are all currently lacking from our present circumstances.
After much searching and mutual heartbreak over missed chances, we have found a house near one of us which would be ideal for all of our needs that can also be adapted where necessary to accommodate others if needed. The buyer is asking for $259,000, and while we have been able to put together $18,000 as a down payment, it’s not enough to bring the monthly mortgage down to what we can afford with our combined incomes. If we could raise our down payment even just a little, it would help us greatly to turn this dream of living independently and safely into a reality.
Any money raised will go entirely towards securing the house and turning it into a safe and loving home.
The people you would be helping include Nicole, who lives with multiple mental illnesses and disabilities, including major depressive disorder, anxiety and ADHD. They are also currently fighting to regain custody of their son from their ex, and hope to bring him home soon. They identify as queer and non-binary and are affianced to Jen. They also have an emotional support animal, a cat named Munkustrap, as well as their son’s cat Ghengis who misses their son greatly.

Jen is also queer and non-binary, and struggles with anxiety and major depressive disorder. They spend their days caring for the chronically ill and dying, and when not working they spend their time volunteering nationwide with LGBTQ+ organizations and supporting their friends, gardening and creating fiber craft arts.
Silver is also queer and is diagnosed ADHD. They love reading and playing with animals, and despite being the youngest of the group, are absolutely determined to make this dream a reality and are willing to support their friends however they can.
The fourth member of the group is unable to post details of their name or life online for reasons of personal safety after having fled an abusive and toxic situation, but they have spent a long time struggling with being homeless, worsening mental health and chronic pain and fatigue since they were forced to flee their home.
Together we hope to build something safe and wonderful together, and any help you could give would be hugely appreciated. Even just a dollar would help. If you can’t donate, please share! Every retweet and reblog helps!
