Dianne Murphy Memorial Fund

In lieu of flowers, Dianne Murphy would be so happy to know that her legacy continues. She had the blessing as well as challenge of raising a grandchild as so many grandparents in this day and age do. Eight-year-old Danielle came to Dianne young, scared and untrusting. Danielle and her mother and father were homeless, living day-to-day in shelters and hotels rooms. While spending one of those lonely nights in a hotel room with her parents, her life got worse. Danielle’s mom passed away from a brief illness. Danielle suffers from post-traumatic syndrome because she was witness to her passing in that hotel room, within the confines of those four small walls. When the incident happened, Dianne couldn’t stand by and watch so she rushed off to North Carolina to offer her assistance. In the end, Danielle had no place to go, her father was unable to care for her and her siblings were too young to provide care, Dianne made the brave decision to bring her home to Massachusetts and raise her. They learned together how to handle life. Dianne enrolled her in school to provide her stability, ensured she was fed and clothed, involved her in sports to have an outlet for her emotions, provided her with counseling to give her tools to process all that she had been through. As Dianne was aging she became aware that she could no longer provide all that a young child needs, yet she continued to try. Once the cancer became too aggressive and Dianne could no longer care for herself, family knew it was time to have someone else take care of Danielle.
Danielle is now at the young age of 12, living with an aunt. The family decided to take action and raise some funds so that Danielle can continue to thrive, to know a better way of life. Your contribution will help ensure she continues her education, remembering her grandmother’s loving care and the generosity of so many. Danielle has been through a lot in her short number of years, but this will ensure she never forget the kindness she receives.
We would be happy to answer any questions you may have about her and will share updates to know that you are putting your money to a good cause.
