Surgeries and Medicines

After a year and a half of 6 brain surgeries plus multiple hospital stays, I am starting off 2019 looking at having a shunt (or multiple shunts) put back in.  I also was officially diagnosed with MS in addition to IH, RA and POTS near the end of 2018 which brings along an expensive medicine.  While I maxed out my out of pocket in 2017 and very early in 2018 slowly, 2019 brings all of these items happening at once.  I have whatever my portion of an $80,000 a dose med to cover and my OOP for the year before I am maxed out again which is hard on less than $1000 a month on disability.  I also learned from the other brain surgeries that having a meal service delivered at least the first few weeks was easier to make sure that I actually not only ate but ate items that were still on my normal diet.
