P-51 Mustang 'Precious Metal' is one of the most iconic Air racers in modern times. She is the 'people's racer' driven by an all volunteer crew and small private donations and sponsors.
On the way to the National Championship Air Races on Septemer 8, 2015, she suffered an unexpected engine fire on the ground at a fuel stop, and sustained severe airframe damage. The team does not have the necessary funds to return this one of a kind machine to flight for next year's races.
Our team's offer to you, our fans, is one square inch on our new paint job in exchange for a $50 contribution. A picture of you, you friends, family, pet or anything else you'd like (within decency limits) to print on the aircraft in a fan based mosaic that we'll race around the course again in the World's Fastest Motor Sport. Unlimited Pylon Air Racing! No limit as to how many square inches you'd like to obtain. We'll make your picture or logo any size you want!
