UPDATE: January 31, 2017: The pro bono legal team has seen through our work over the last three days that the need at the DFW airport is going to continue for quite some time. We are dedicated to being here for as long as we are needed to fight this unconstitutional Executive Order and others that may follow. We will not back down. We are in this for the long haul. Over the weekend at least ten travelers were detained at DFW International Airport in the wake of Trump's January 27, 2017 executive order. After many hours in detention these travelers were finally reunited with their families . Their release was due in large part to the efforts of more than 100 lawyers from the DFW area. These attorneys worked tirelessly without pay to ensure that the violation of these individual's rights did not go unanswered.
Flights are arriving hourly, and we need your help to insure that those aboard are not unlawfully detained. We need your help to make our government accountable.
To that end, we, the attorneys of DFW Detained, are asking for your help to defray the cost of maintaining a "War Room" close to Terminal D at DFW International Airport from which we can confront those who seek to unlawfully and unconstitutionally detain these travelers. These funds will be used to secure meeting space at DFW International Airport and puchase necessary supplies. NOT ONE DOLLAR of the money raised will be used to compensate the attorneys involved, who are donating their time and talents to this humanitarian effort. Any funds which are leftover after our work concludes will be donated to ACLU.
