Desmond Ko, Uncle Desmond, Desi Ko, Dad, DES...
It is with mixed emotions to share that Desmond Ko have passed peacefully on Saturday May 18, 2019. He was a fighter. The strongest Man we know. Battling the worst disease we know, a disease that shows no mercy. But he has been brave and fearless throughout the entire 3 year process. He showed courage and compassion every which way this path has taken him.
Charming, Charismatic, Passionate and Vibrant.
It's difficult to describe the essence of Desmond in words. He was a powerful, expressive and loving man. Always a "YES" in all circumstances and supportive to all. He operated from a place of service and always expressed his actions with love and a smile. He was the type of person that took care of people, opened up his home for friends that needed a place to live, for numerous celebrations and for all friends to come over to hang out for a party, a barbecue or a warm meal. Our home was always full of delight, laughter and joy!
Desmond not only invests his time into our family, but also into helping friends in need by volunteering his time to countless projects with little to no recognition. That was his BEING. Helpful and jovial - always with a smile on this face and this man has got jokes for days!
During this time of grievance, in lieu of flowers and gifts, we are proud to set up this Gofundme page to raise
money to benefit THE SALVATION ARMY RICHMOND ROTARY HOSPICE. Desmond's last 20 days were spend in this peaceful establishment where the utmost care was provided.
The goal of this page is to fund two hospital beds for the Hospice for other families to be able to rest in peace and comfort. All extra funds will be provided to the Desi Classic - A Charity Golf tournament benefiting the same organization (more details to come).
**Monetary donations will also be accepted in person. 
May Desmond's love of service live on as he rests in peace.
