Raising funds for my Dad's teeth :(

My name is Patricia Atkinson Elick. I am Daniel Atkinson's daughter. I am using my step mother Kari Atkinson Tom's account to set this up. They just have way more Facebook friends than TJ or I and it's all their friends. Us kids are doing this because Dad is just too damned proud to ask for anything from anyone. We are trying to make this happen in January or Febuary at the latest. Dad is in the process of scheduling the extractions.
We are trying to raise money to get dad some decent dental work and dentures. He is absolutely miserable and sick all the time from absess and infections. He's always on antibiotics of some sort. We have tried several charity programs. The best we can find is that they will do the extractions of his remaining teeth on a scale. Its acually going to be oral surgery. But, we are on the hook for the dentures and monthly adjustments (6-8).
Please think about throwing a few dollars to my father who has worked hard all his life to make sure us kids and family had food, lights, clothes, etc.... My dad raised me and my brother ever since our mother abandoned us and dad for drugs and man after man when I was 4 and my brother 3 months old. He has always selflessly neglected himself for our benefit. Us kids are just starting out in life and finding it very hard to try and help. He's still raising my teenage brother and caretaking for his wife Kari, who is chronically ill and needs a liver and pancreas transplant. We are doing our best though with trying to raise money outside of this.
When we were younger he refused to buy anything for himself, he even wore raggedy holy stuff just to make sure we had clothes on our backs and didnt get made fun of at school.
Our self esteem was very important to him. He even missed a few meals as well when times were really tuff to make sure our bellies were full(was too proud to get food stamps). I remember him losing 20 lbs in about three weeks to make sure we had. I still sit and cry sometimes just thinking about the kindness and sacrifices he made for us all.
He always tried to save to get dentures since he had an accident 14 years ago in Carson City, NV and cracked most of his teeth as well as his left orbital bone and nose.
He has the opportunity to have all his teeth pulled now. But cannot afford dentures and the monthly adjustments for 6 to 8 months. When Kari became chronicly ill and needing hospitilizations and round the clock care, all his savings went towards medications and her care without a thought to himself. But, once again not one complaint, Just a pure sense of family duty to put us over himself.
We are trying to raise funds for travel and the price of the dentures. The cheapest we could find is in Joplin MO. The family and I would love to see him actually smile again. We are trying our darndest to make this happen. He deserves so much more than we can give him. It breaks our hearts to not be able to do for the only man who gave his all for us and never once complained.
It would mean the world to him and his self esteem. He scraped to raise us mostly by himself. We want to try and give him a part of his life back to him.
So, if you can throw a few bucks our way it will be greatly appreciated. Anything really does make all the difference in the world (what you would spend at a gas station for a snack and a drink?)
