10/8/17: UPDATE
It's hard to believe that it's been a week since you left us.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend.  Anyone that knows Denise will tell you about her infectious smile, her big heart and her huge zest for life.   Life was meant to be enjoyed and Denise did so larger than anyone I know.

She went doing one of the things that she loved to do, attend concerts and listen to good music.  She was there with her boyfriend, Lt. Derrick "Bo" Taylor, who also lost his life that day.  Our family continues to send love, light and prayers to the Taylor family, especially his sons Gregory and Kyle.

The family continues to appreciate all the kind words, prayers and generosity that has been shown.

10/6/17:  UPDATE
It is with a gratful heart that I come and thank each and every one of you for not only helping to meet the goal, but to surpass it.  The family has been tracking this and has expressed their undying appreciation for each and every one of you, your words of comfort and generosity of heart.

Today Brandon and Sandi went and set up a bank account in Brandon, Jeff and Sandi's name.  Sandi is the stepmother of Brandon and Jeff and has been a tremendous asset in helping to handle all of logistical affairs.  All of the donations from this account will be placed into that account to cover all related funeral expenses.  Rest assured, no major decisions are being made without the boys knowledge and blessing.

For those of you that have mentioned the Las Vegas Fund, yes, we are aware of this and Sandi has been working with them on behalf of the boys.  Just so you know, that particular fund is set up as a reimbursement so these donations will be used to cover the costs until they can be reimbursed.

With much gratitude ~ Kelli

10/5/17:  UPDATE
Just to clarify any and all rumors and misconceptions that are starting to surface and circulate out their, This fund is strictly and solely for her sons Brandon Rees and Jeff Rees, his wife and 3 children.  Any monies left over after their costs are to be split amonst the two of them.

Today I received an email from the GoFundMe folks to make sure that I'm not a scammer so here is the update they are requesting:

1.  My name is Kelli Gentile and I currently live in Arizona
2.  Denise is my sister in law.  I was married to her brother, but the joke is that I divorced him, not the family so she, her sister Kristal and myself have still remained sisters.
3.  This account was originally set up to help defray the costs that funerals usually incur.  We had no idea that the outpouring of love and support from the nation would be so great that it would take care any of that.  Since it looks like the Vegas fund will be taking care of funeral expenses,   These funds will be used for any up front costs, if any (we don't know if they give the families a check or a place to send the bill - no one writes a manual for things such as this).   Whatever monies are left over, will be split between her two sons, Jeff and Brandon, along with setting up savings funds for her grandchildren.
4.  Plans for withdrawl have not been set up yet.  Once Kristal and Brandon come back from Vegas with a better idea and timeframe, we will talk about the best way to go about the dispursement.

On October 1, 2017, Denise was taken from us while she attended a music festival in Las Vegas.  Her boys, family and friends are all heartbroken by the loss of this beautiful soul.  We will miss her big smile, positive attitude and the way she loved to live life large.

We may never know why this madman did what he did, only that we are lost without you.  May the angels carry you swiftly and God protect you in his loving arms until we can one day meet again.

Funds from this Go Fund Me will go to help defray the costs and funeral expenses for the family.  Once the coroner releases her to come home, we will be able to let everyone know of the memorial plans.

The family thanks you all for your kind words, prayers and support.  They mean more to us than you will ever know.
