Demeter House Equipment Replacement
Donation protected
Demeter House is an independent special needs school catering for boys with a variety of additional needs including Autism, social, emotional and mental health difficulties, and complex behavioural needs. We are the only school of our kind in the area and the students travel from Scunthorpe, Grimsby, Lincoln, Doncaster and Hull to our two sites that are based in Brigg and Scawby, North Lincolnshire.
Unfortunately, on the 8th August 2017 our Scawby site was broken into and several thousand pounds worth of music equipment was taken. This equipment was all relatively new and had been purchased with money gathered from previous fund raising campaigns and music events hosted by the school. It was used as part of the qualifications that the students are studying for, as well as to provide some much needed therapeutic music sessions for many students.
Following lots of unexpected offers of help and at the request of a number of people, we have set up this page to help raise some money towards the cost of replacing the stolen equipment, hopefully before the students return in September after the Summer break. We are also looking at organising an event to showcase the students' talents and show how much this equipment is needed.
Thank you for taking the time to read and share our story. Any donations or shares will be greatly received and very much appreciated.
