Ok Cancer, This Time It's Personal

Donation protected
I'm writing this story for my friend and co-worker Deanna, who honestly would never think to make this request herself. This month, which marked the second anniversary of her breast cancer battle, she was told it had returned. We work in the the healthcare profession. Dee is a dedicated dental hygienist and worked hard developing not only her clinical skill set, but also her personal skills which resulted in the most caring dental practitioner you could meet. I've been proud to work by her side for ten years. It is a true testament to her character when you hear the outpouring of genuine concern, love and support from our patients when they hear about this twist in her journey. Not because she helped them overcome halitosis...but because she has made it a habit to truly become their friends. Dee's friends will tell you about her heart of gold. She is always putting others needs before her own. She's an INCREDIBLE mother, devoted Christian, and fur parent of the year (just try to stop her from telling you all about her Bichon Frise, Bella). I'm not going to tell you about how many obstacles she has encountered even before the initial cancer diagnosis because I think they are what made her into the person she is now that we love so much. What I will tell you about is how HARD she fought (and how even more determined she is now, and willing to fight again). This isn't a woman who is prone to "why me", this is a "well let's do this" kind of gal (even if her eyes are a bit misty when she says it). Her faith in God, loving support of family and friends, and trust in the science and healing hands of Doctors got her through round one. We'd like to create a cushion that makes round two a little easier with this GoFundMe fund. She had so many victories in her two years of remission, including a pretty impressive new hairstyle! And if what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, then this cancer should be afraid....very afraid. There are a lot of things in a cancer journey that many of us are fortunate to not have to know about. Anti-nausea injections, easy to prepare meals, clothing that just doesn't HURT. The list goes on. With your gift we can take away a little bit of the pain that these expenses can cause. Many have asked me what they can do to help, which is why I created this. I also want to say that every bit helps, even a donation similar to the price of a coffee. I am grateful, and Deanna and her wonderful family are beyond grateful. This is the kind of gift that will give you the feels. It's Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the holidays are nearing, and who knows...she might help you fight periodontal disease someday. You should see her work a laser!
Thank you,
