Deductible Fees for Hit and Run
Donation protected
Between 2am and 3am on Christmas morning my car was hit by an (assuming) drunk driver. My car was parked outside of my parents home on the street and when I went out to my car around 9am on Christmas morning I noticed the horrible damage. My back driver's side tire is popped, hubcap off, muffler crushed, and wheel well totally caved in. Debris was scattered all over the street and the person who hit my car hit it with such force that it was about 15 feet from its original parking spot and shoved up on the sidewalk.
I have filed a police report as well as an insurance claim but I have a $500 deductible. It would mean so much to me if I didn't have to worry about the deductible while I spend time waiting on my car to be fixed, communicating with insurance, police, and auto body shops. I have already missed work because of this accident and while I do get a rental car at a very low and reasonable rate, I still have to pay out of pocket. Every penny counts and I would be so grateful for any donation amount around this holiday season.
