Death of 10 month old baby Xy'Ahir

A 10-month-old boy was killed and another man wounded in a shooting late Saturday afternoon (Dec. 3) in Marrero. The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office said at least five people were inside the home in the 2100 block of Caddy Drive when someone came through the front door around 4:30 p.m. and started shooting.
JPSO spokesman Col. John Fortunato said deputies arrived to find the 10-month-old boy, Xyahir Davis, and a male believed to in his early 20s, both with multiple gunshot wounds.
Davis was taken to West Jefferson Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, Fortunato said. The other victim, who has not been identified, was taken to University Medical Center, where he went into surgery and was in serious condition.
