Terry Snook's funeral expense

I recently received a text from Kevin Snook, fellow classmate of Saint Louis High School Class of ‘78, with an unusual request. He asked if I would be willing to scatter his mother’s ashes over the grave of her husband; who is buried at the National Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl. Kevin’s mother, Terry Snook, had a heart attack a few weeks ago and was called home to our heavenly father. Although she lived in Florida for 22 years, her wish has always been to be laid to rest in Hawaii. Since there were no advanced burial arrangements set up, they were willing to settle with scattering her ashes.

   As honored as I was to be asked to do this for my dear friend, I felt that it would be best if a member of the family honor this last request. After some thought and research, I informed Kevin that his mother’s remains could be buried along with his dad at Punchbowl. As a surviving spouse of LCDR Ernest Snook, she had the right to be buried with him. Not knowing this, he was grateful for the possibility of having his parents laid to rest together at Punchbowl. My father, Lawrence Enomoto (member of a VFW chapter in Hawaii), forwarded information on making arrangements for having the mother’s cremated remains returned to Hawaii and how to open up a case with the National Cemetery Scheduling Office in St. Louis Mo. They will help schedule a date and time for the burial.

   I am reaching out to our classmates, friends and family for help. No one in the Snook family is financially able to make the trip, so I have set up an account with “Gofundme.com”(look for "Terry Snook's funeral expense"). I’m hoping to raise enough money to, at least, fly Kevin home so he can lay his mother to rest. Please consider giving a small donation to help Kevin honor his mother’s last request.
