Help Casey Jo kick cancers butt!

This has been an extremely difficult season for my brother and sister-in-law. Even though this season has been stormy they have not wavered in their faith and stayed strong fully believing The Lord will bring complete healing through surgery, the right medication and time. Late in May their beautiful daughter Noya was born. She is their third, 1st was Simeon who is 3-1/2 years and her second is Xander who is now 15 months.

6 weeks after Noya was born, Casey Jo was in for her check up. While she was at her check up herdoctor, Dr. Goersh, found a tumor on her thyroid. About a week or two later she went in for a biopsy. The biopsy came back irregular and then it was time to meet with an ears, nose and throat specialist, Dr. Christiansen. He determined the best way to get rid of the tumor is to take out the left side of her thyroid in a left thyroidectomy. That way there was no chance of any tumor returning. August 31st, Juwon brought Casey Jo to the hospital and into surgery. The surgery took around two hours and the recovery was brutal and took a toll on her for a week. Casey's mom Barb has been so generous using her vacation days to help Casey through this process. When Barb went to work Juwon took off several days just trying to keep Casey Jo as comfortable as possible through recovery. Casey Jo was puking for hours after surgery having difficulty eating and swallowing for days and wasn't her normal self for a while.

September 3rd Casey Jo got a call from Dr. Christiansen's nurse and said he needs to see her the next day. So September 4th Casey Jo and her dad Mark went in and got the news she was diagnosed with Papillary Carcinoma Cancer. We are extremely thankful with another surgery and the right medication and regular check-ups that Casey will be a cancer survivor.

October 5th Casey will be undergoing a right thyroidectomy. Once the right thyroid is removed she then will undergo iodine treatment that will destroy any cancer cells that have spread throughout her body. Our family is so thankful the cancer she was diagnosed with is curable but cancer is cancer and it's not fun or a cute thing to go through. Juwon had to quit his second job because he was missing so much work through this process and Casey is still hurting from her first surgery and she won't be able to work until she feels better which may not be until next year.

As of right now, Casey Jo is feeling miserable. She's extremely fatigued and counts the hours before Juwon comes home from work at 5. They are so thankful for great doctors such as Dr. Goersh and Dr.Christiansen who found the cancer and are working to get it out. Casey's parents as well as her auntie Kimmy have helped so much through these difficult times. As much as Barbie is their biggest help she still works almost everyday leaving Casey Jo home with three kiddos ages three and under and her fatigue and nausea is unbearable. These days that Juwon had missed work as well as the medical bills, it has caused a great financial burden on Juwon & Casey Jo and I created this account for them to hopefully raise enough money to help them through this difficult season without getting behind on all the medical/other bills. I just want Casey Jo and Juwon to stay focused on getting Casey better than to worry about any financial burden or getting behind.

My hope is that you firstly will call or text Casey and bring encouragement to her and secondly if you would prayerfully consider giving financially. They believe the best care they can receive is an hour and 20 minutes from their home and even the amount of gas they have spent in this season is quit a bit. I am so pleased to watch them go through this that they are not blaming God for this transgression but seeing them joyful and thanking God for the access to the right medication and knowing that He is bringing wholeness and full restoration to Casey's body. Thank you all very much.

Xander, Noya, and Simeon (^.^)
